Connect an Agent

Cline

Connect MoraWP in Cline's desktop app, IDE extension, or terminal.

Desktop app

Open Customize → Installed to inspect Cline Desktop's MCP servers. Its Marketplace also lists MCP services. For MoraWP, use a custom remote server rather than choosing an unrelated marketplace entry.

IDE configuration

In the extension's top toolbar, open MCP Servers → Remote Servers. Enter morawp, MoraWP's URL, and Streamable HTTP, then choose Add Server. Follow its authentication prompt.

For manual JSON, open MCP Servers → Configure → Configure MCP Servers. Merge this server into the opened configuration:

JSON
{"mcpServers":{"morawp":{"type":"streamableHttp","url":"https://api.morawp.com/mcp","disabled":false,"autoApprove":[]}}}

Keep autoApprove empty initially. Explicitly select Streamable HTTP: older configurations can otherwise be treated as legacy SSE.

Terminal setup

Run cline mcp and use its interactive wizard to add a remote HTTP server with MoraWP's URL. Choose Authorize for OAuth when offered. Use cline config mcp to inspect server configuration.

The vendor's Desktop overview documents capability management, while its MCP reference documents the wizard and configuration above. Check which environment a Desktop or SSH session uses; configuring a local CLI does not prove a remote session is connected.

If it does not work

Inspect MoraWP in the active session's MCP inventory and finish OAuth. If the Desktop build does not expose custom remote setup, use the documented CLI wizard or IDE configuration.

Approve and check access

First connect a WordPress website in MoraWP. When the client opens sign-in, review the Workspace, websites, and Ability access before approving. Read only limits changes; enabled Integrations may still expose private fields. No static Agent key is needed.

In a new session with MoraWP enabled, ask:

Use MoraWP to list the websites this connection can access.
Do not create, edit, delete, or publish anything.

Check: the intended website appears. Then read one page to check WordPress access. A configured server alone is not proof of a working read.

For missing tools, see Missing Abilities. To stop access, disconnect the Agent in MoraWP and remove its local server entry. Local removal alone is not MoraWP revocation.
