Connect an Agent

Claude Code

Add MoraWP over HTTP, authorize it in your browser, and check the connection in Claude Code.

Use Claude Code in a terminal, IDE extension, or the Code tab in Claude Desktop. For ordinary Claude chat, use Claude.

Desktop Code tab

For local and SSH Code sessions, open + → Connectors beside the prompt, or Settings → Connectors to manage services. Add MoraWP with Claude's custom remote setup, then check that it is available in your Code conversation.

The Desktop reference also supports MCP settings shared with Claude Code's CLI. If you use the commands below, select the scope for the project or host running that session. Cloud and WSL sessions do not expose the same + setup control; do not assume a local connection transfers to them.

See Claude Code Desktop's official guide for those environment differences.

IDE extension

Use the IDE's Claude Code session in the intended project. Add the HTTP server through the CLI below, then open /mcp in that session to inspect it and finish authorization. A generic MCP server in the editor's own settings is not necessarily configured for Claude Code.

Before you begin

Connect a WordPress website, then check your local Claude Code installation:

Terminal
claude --version

The command syntax below was checked with Claude Code 2.1.260. Use Anthropic's MCP instructions if your version does not offer these commands.

Add MoraWP

From the project where you want to use MoraWP, run:

Terminal
claude mcp add --transport http morawp https://api.morawp.com/mcp

The default configuration scope is local, so this entry applies to the current project. To make it available across your projects instead, use:

Terminal
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user morawp https://api.morawp.com/mcp

Choose one scope. If morawp already exists, inspect it before adding another:

Terminal
claude mcp get morawp

Authorize

Start Claude Code in that project. Run /mcp, select MoraWP, and follow the authentication flow. In the browser, approve the intended Workspace and access.

Check: /mcp shows MoraWP as connected. A saved configuration without successful OAuth is not an authorized connection.

Ask Claude Code:

Use MoraWP to list the websites this connection can access. Do not make changes.

Then follow Read one page.

Troubleshooting and removal

ProblemNext step
MoraWP is absent in another projectCheck the scope you selected; local scope is project-specific.
Authentication is requiredOpen /mcp and complete sign-in.
The browser request expiredRestart authentication to obtain a new request.
Connected but an action is unavailableCheck Access denied.

To stop access, disconnect the Agent in MoraWP. For local cleanup, remove the entry at the scope where you added it:

Terminal
claude mcp remove morawp

For a user-scoped entry, add --scope user to the remove command. Local cleanup and disconnecting the MoraWP Agent are separate operations.
